&Tradition - Spring 2024 Launch

&Tradition has a continued ethos of melding timeless re-issues with the classics of tomorrow.  This Spring sees new collections by Anderssen & Voll and Space Copenhagen, along with new designs by Jaime Hayon, Sebastian Herkner, and Luca Nichetto, join archive pieces from Hvidt & Mølgaard, Verner Panton and Viggo Boesen.

The Thorvald Collection by Space Copenhagen celebrates outdoor living with sculpted silhouettes and an interplay of light and shadow. It’s a modern take on the lyrical lines of Denmark’s most esteemed neoclassical artist, Bertel Thorvaldsen and the mesmerising motifs of his eponymous museum. The steel frame and grid seating of the stackable side chair sets the scene for an elegant, versatile series. Inspired by Copenhagen’s vibrant atmosphere, it’s ideal for any city in the world, and your invitation to pause, enjoy a chat, a drink or a memorable the moment under the open sky.

A celebration of nature and materiality, Anderssen & Voll’s outdoor collection Ville embraces alfresco living with a combination of solidity and softness. The smaller of two table sizes, the AV25 is well suited to both smaller hospitality locations and residential settings. Incorporating the use of wood, the tabletop is crafted from teak to provide a warm and inviting surface which can be oiled or left untreated to suit individual preferences.

AX represents one of the first times that plywood was shaped in 3D. The continuous curve of the armrests is mirrored in the frame, indicative of Hvidt & Mølgaard’s training in Danish cabinetry. Their expert engineering of the construction ensures unsurpassed ergonomics, resulting in the design’s reputation as the most comfortable wooden chair of its kind. Available in Lacquered Oak and Walnut or Dark Stained Oak and Walnut.

The German word for “hold, stay and last”, Halten is designed to be a cherished companion for everyday life. In a home or hospitality setting, you can easily take it with you to pair with an armchair, sofa or pouf. The design reflects Herkner’s impeccable eye for detail and proportion, his affinity for form, and appreciation of precious materials.

What makes the Wire Stool indicatively Verner Panton is the use of stainless-steel wire to create a simple geometric shape with repeated patterns, in a stackable stool that doubles as a side table. An icon from the archives destined to become a collectible, the airy transparency makes it a versatile design suitable for a vast array of settings. Each Wire Stool has the option of detachable seat pads, in four colours, attachable with a discreet magnet.

Sett is a series of tables showcasing the innate beauty of marble and glass, inspired by a jewellery technique, where precious gems are inlaid and precisely ‘set’ into a frame. Designed by Luca Nichetto, the look is sharp and sophisticated, alluding to the influence of Scandinavian functionalism infused with Nichetto’s Italian accent on objects with visual impact.

The Montera table lamp by international artist and designer Jaime Hayon seamlessly blends past and present. Montera pays homage to the heritage of Spain, displaying a clear correlation with the traditional flair and pageantry of the country, both Montera’s name and silhouette derive from the bullfighting hat of the iconic Matador. Hayon's signature use of colour shines through, with two captivating variants: Forest & Sky, and Amber & Ruby.

First launched as a chair, the Betty series includes bar and counter stools, a bench and now an armchair version with the same distinctive design features and sturdy construction. The whole range is available in the new addition of a Smoked Oiled Oak finish.
